Welcome to the Sustainable Dye Chemistry Laboratory’s Research Website!
At the heart of our research interests is the design, development, and application of bio-based and synthetic dyes, with a focus on reducing environmental impact without compromising coloristic properties like photostability. Our research explores both fundamental principles and real-world applications, bridging the gap between scientific discovery and practical innovation.
Our laboratory is affiliated with the BioColours Consortium and the NSF Center for Accelerated Photocatalysis (CAPs). We welcome collaborations with researchers, industry professionals, and institutions whose interests align with ours.
Our work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
- Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – by developing greener methods for designing and developing dyes.
- Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation – by pursuing water-efficient coloration technologies to minimize environmental pollution
